Pokken Tournament Coming to Wii U Spring 2016

Nintendo and Bandai Namco have announced that Pokken Tournament is coming to the Wii U early next year. Wii U owners can pick the game up sometime spring 2016.

The company made the announcement at the Pokemon World Championships in Boston. Pokken Tournament is a fighting game set in the Pokemon universe, and developed by members of the Tekken team.  A total of nine characters – Lucario, Machamp, Suicune, Gardevoir, Pikachu, Gengar, Weavile, Charizard, and Blaziken – have been announced for the game. We’ll have to wait and see if Bandai Namco will add more characters before the Wii U release.

Pokken Tournament is playable now in Japan via arcade machines. You can play the game at a few select Dave and Buster’s locations in the U.S.
