After the reservation fiasco for Wave 4, Nintendo has been releasing amiibos a lot more slowly and a lot more carefully. Now, as September approaches, (as well as plenty of amiibo compatible games), fans wail with excitement as wave 6 releases on September 11 alongside Super Mario Maker. The amiibos that will be available are Olimar, Zero Suit Samus, Ganondorf, 30th Anniversary Mario, Dr. Mario, and Bowser Jr. Of these, none of them will be available to pre-order and will become available on that date at their respective retailers. Ganondorf, Zero Suit Samus, Olimar, and 30th Anniversary Mario will be available at all retailers while Bowser Jr will be available at Toys R’ Us and Dr. Mario at Target.
As per leaked information, it seems that Target will have plenty of these amiibos to go around and Amazon has already posted them using a placeholder date while here is no information yet as to whether or not Bowser Jr. wil be available through Toys R’ Us’s website. It seems that fans will have to start lining up early to get the amiibos that they want this time around. With older amiibos appearing randomly through different retailers, especially the Retro 3-pack pre-order run, it seems that Nintendo might have finally started listening to fans about the availability of their favorite characters. We’ll see once wave 6 is officially available but until then, happy hunting!
