It’s been a quiet summer for Nintendo, but the Japanese company is revving its engines for a race to the end of the year with an impressive lineup of first-party software releases. The Big N revealed most of its plans for 2015 at E3 back in June, but today it has finalized its release schedule through the end of 2015, and it’s looking mighty fine.
We already knew Super Mario Maker was coming on September 11, followed by Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer on September 27, The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes and Yoshi’s Woolly World on October 23, Yo-Kai Watch on November 6, and Xenoblade Chronicles X on December 4, but those massive releases will also be joined by:
- Fatal Frame: Maiden of the Black Water – October 22
- Star Fox Zero – November 20
- Devil’s Third – December 11
- Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival – Holiday 2015
- Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash – Holiday 2015
- Chibi-Robo!: Zip-Lash – October 9
- Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon – November 20
Interestingly, Fatal Frame: Maiden of the Black Water will be an eShop exclusive, offering players the prologue and first two chapters free of charge. The full game will cost $49.99, but giving players access to a game many will avoid out of sheer lack of familiarity is a smart move — just in time for Halloween.
Nintendo’s fall and holiday lineup is looking strong, and even with Zelda Wii U pushed back into 2016, players shouldn’t have any problem finding something to play on either 3DS or Wii U this year. Which game are you most excited for?
