Divinity: Original Sin 2 Reached Kickstarter Goal in Under 12 hours

Following the acclaim and popularity of their successfully Kickstarter’d isometric RPG Divinity: Original Sin, developer Larian Studios went to Kickstarter for funding on its aptly-named sequel: Divinity: Original Sin 2. Sure enough, Original Sin 2 hit its Kickstarter goal in less than twelve hours, displaying both the success of the original and the confidence of the fan-base.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 will be about how a character’s origins affect who they are and where they get in life. More prominently, it will feature a heavier focus in multiplayer than its predecessor, sporting support for up to four players in seamlessly-switching cooperative and competitive play. Multiple players can journey against and alongside one another throughout the game’s story, stabbing each other in the back, turning NPCs against each other, or just helping each other out.

Though those hoping for Divinity 3 may be disappointed, Divinity: Original Sin 2 has some exciting ideas behind it – especially if you have three other friends you would like to play with, or betray. It will be very interesting to see where this game goes and if these ideas truly work out for Larian in practice.
