Double Fine are a developer best known for making whatever the heck they want. Nowhere is that more apparent than their newly-revealed title Headlander.
Players assume the role of a disembodied human head. What exactly can a head do? Well, not a ton on its own. That’s where the gameplay mechanic of attaching to mechanical bodies comes in. You can swap between the robots you find lying around, whether they are humanoid, dog-like, or something else entirely.
The whole game has a 70s sci-fi vibe and plays from a side scrolling perspective. There’s not a ton more we know just yet, but here’s the reveal trailer which shares that Headlander will be out next year.
