One of our most anticipated games this year has been pushed. Firaxis’ sequel to their highly popular PC game XCOM: Enemy Unknown has been unfortunately delayed by three months. Granted, it doesn’t come as that big of a surprise considering the game was only announced just before E3 this year, but this is still disappointing news for those looking to dive back into the strategy franchise.
“With XCOM 2, we want to have more depth, more replayability, and more investment in your soldiers and this extension will give us the time we need to deliver on our promise to you,” posted on XCOM’s official site.
Originally scheduled for November, XCOM 2 will now launch on February 5, 2016. While fans will have to wait a little longer, so long as Firaxis gets down their formula for procedural generated maps and mod support, everything will be fine. XCOM 2 will be exclusive to PC.
