Open-world dinosaur island survival game ARK: Survival Evolved is killing it on Steam Early Access. Not to miss a beat, developer Studio Wildcard is keeping their game updated with more and more Jurassic wildlife for their players to interact with and tame.
The latest addition to the game is the Mesopithecus, a species of poop-throwing, lock-picking monkeys. Needless to say, they’re very useful once you get them to work with you. Mesopithecus can be flung over walls, made to open locked doors, and tasked to neutralize other players with their feces. These potentially friendly monkeys can sit on your character’s shoulder and automatically harvest nearby plants. You can also accessorize your monkey friends with hats.
Additional new features to the game in this latest update include a smoke grenade, and new tilesets for house construction. Take a look at the spotlight video for the mischievous Mesopithecus below. ARK: Survival Evolved is planned for a full release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Linux sometime next June.
