Seeing as the initial “Launch Day Edition” copies of the game will ship with both the Wii U and Wii versions in the same box, Rodea the Sky Soldier’s Wii version actually looks comparable to its current-generation counterpart.
Directed by Sonic the Hedgehog mastermind Yuji Naka, Rodea the Sky Soldier is a 3D action platformer where there’s far more empty space than platform. Meant to stay airborne as often as possible, players need to target the next surface to kick off of so main character Rodea can hurl himself towards it and fly through the expanse of sky most levels tend to be. Despite being on Wii U, the importance of targeting the next platform, item, or enemy is important in how Rodea works. As such, the Wii version of the game may easily hold its own in the gameplay department.
Check out the Wii version features and gameplay trailer below. Rodea the Sky Soldier is due out in North America on November 10, and Europe on November 13, for Nintendo Wii U, Wii, and 3DS.
