Minecraft is Coming to Wii U

After much speculation, Mojang has officially confirmed that Minecraft is coming to Wii U later this month.

Minecraft is set to launch December 17 on Wii U. It’ll cost $29.99 and will be available to download from the Nintendo eShop. In addition, Minecraft will come bundled with six of the game’s most popular add-on packs, though Mojang has not revealed what they will be. A Festive mash-up will included just in time for the holidays.

The Wii U version is being developed by 4J Studios, the development house behind the console and PS Vita ports. More content packs will be added to the Wii U Edition in the future, and free updates will be regularly added to the game. Minecraft: Wii U Edition will feature off-TV play with the GamePad.

Minecraft: Wii U Edition is out December 17. Minecraft is also available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and PS Vita.
