Summon Night 5 Gets New Screenshots Ahead of Tomorrow’s Release

Gaijinworks, the studio behind the release of Class of Heroes here in the West, is set to release their new SRPG tomorrow, Summon Night 5. Some of you may not Gaijinworks, if not by their recent releases, then by their head honcho, Vic Ireland — the bossman for the now-defunct localization company, Working Designs. Summon Night 5 was announced some months ago now; thus, fans have been awaiting its release with bated breath. Tomorrow’s release will only include the digital download copy of the game, with the physical packaging to follow in the coming weeks (physical packaging for those who managed to pre-order the game).

Ahead of that release, however, Gaijin has released a batch of new assets to tide folks over until tomorrow. So be sure to check those out below.

Summon Night 5 is exclusive to Sony platforms, releasing on the PSP and Vita, with PSTV support coming, pending Sony’s approval. The game will set folks back $30.99 instead of the original $34.99 thanks to fan involvement in Gaijinworks’ pricing campaign they ran via Twitter to help drive the sticker tag down a bit. With over 40,000 lines of dialogue and classic SRPG action in the vein of Final Fantasy Tactics and Disgaea, fans of more old-school JRPGs will probably want to give this a look. What we’ve read about the Japanese version — in addition to Gaijinworks’ pretty excellent reputation for treating source material with respect — has us excited and looking at its release as a great way to cap off a fantastic year for gaming.
