Devolver Digital Wants to Help Bring Metal Wolf Chaos to The West

Ever since the gaming community has learned of its existence, we have been clamoring for a Stateside release of Metal Wolf Chaos. Released by From Software in 2004 as an exclusive for the original Xbox, Metal Wolf Chaos was the story of Michael Wilson, America’s 47th president. After the vice president overthrows him and becomes a tyrannical dictator, President Wilson will fight back the only way he knows how: With a giant suit of powered armor and BURNING AMERICAN FREEDOM at his side. It was a satire with so much over-the-top American patriotism on display that it could make Team America: World Police seem subdued and subtle. But the game never made it to Western shores despite (or arguably because of) its content.

Today, though, Devolver Digital suddenly spoke up and put out a tweet saying that they’d love to help From Software deliver Metal Wolf Chaos to more gamers…

Notably, this comes out of the blue quite a bit, as there hasn’t been any other recent news about From Software wanting to release Metal Wolf Chaos, or even any major news about From Software or the game in general. Still, with the #FreeMetalWolf campaign now having garnered a huge amount of support in just a few hours, and with Devolver having proven that they can successfully release other games about over-the-top patriotism, perhaps enough momentum could be gained that would allow this to become a reality. One can only hope…
