IO Interactive and Square Enix have released a fresh batch of details about Hitman’s story and upcoming beta.
In case you didn’t know, Hitman transitioned from a full retail release to an episodic format last month. According to IO, Hitman will be a truly episodic game that allows them to craft individual stories centered on Agent 47’s targets, as well as longer season stories around 47, the ICA, Diana Burnwood, and the game’s new main cast. Like a TV series, where all the storyline tracks and missions will run parallel at first, but converge as the season comes to an end.
Before the full game comes the beta, and PS4 players will get it first on February 12. No details yet on what will be in the beta, but you can guarantee yourself access by pre-order the Full Experience, Intro Pack, or the Collector’s Edition. Pre-ordering also nets you the Blood Money Requiem Pack, which contains a collection of in-game items.
PS4 players will also get exclusive access to The Sarejevo Six, six bonus contracts that tell a side-story. This self-contained plot revolves around Agent 47 hunting down former members of paramilitary unit CICADA. One contact will be available in each location from the game. The first of these will be available on March 11, when the game launches. Called ‘The Director,’ Agent 47 is tasked with assassinating Scott Sarno, Director of European Operations for the CICADA private military corporation. Highly-trained and observant, players can expect him to heavily guarded by CICADA agents. Of course, if it was easy it wouldn’t be any fun.
Hitman begins rolling out March 11 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Additional episodes launch every month after March.
