A new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD shows off some of the features that have been added to the Wii U version of the upcoming remake.
It starts out by showing off some of wolf Link’s abilities, including sniffing, digging, talking to animals and working with Midna. These aren’t new to the Wii U version, but maybe Nintendo thinks everyone forgot.
Then the video switches over to the new GamePad features. You can use the interactive minimap, equip gear from your inventory on the fly or just put the game on the GamePad screen for “off TV play.” They also showed that the bow and arrow will use the controversial motion controls, which might be able to be turned off in the settings. And finally, Amiibo support will allow the Wolf Link amiibo to unlock the bonus challenge cave, the Link amiibo to refill your arrow supply, Ganondorf to buff your defense and Zelda to refill your health.
Other, smaller features include Hero Mode, which flips the entire game horizontally so that everything is mirrored and makes all the enemies much stronger. Another is stamp collecting. Stamps will be found in chests throughout the game, and can be used in the Miiverse.
The biggest feature, though, is of course the updated graphics. The trailer compares the HD version with the Gamecube version, and the difference is huge. New, finer details make the game look even more beautiful than it did back in 2006, which makes you wonder how good the next Zelda game will look.
The HD version of the Gamecube classic comes to Wii U on March 4th.
