IBM Sponsored Sword Art Online VR Gameplay Trailer Releases

News that IBM was sponsoring an actual virtual reality adaption of the popular anime Sword Art Online came out a month ago and fans were eager to get their hands on it to learn more. It was then announced that 208 people would be accepted into an alpha testing event held in Tokyo and over 100,000 people applied.Today we got our first look at what that experience looked like.

Your avatar in Sword Art Online: The Beginning Project is a scanned version of yourself. You use your body as a controller so you’re hands are free to move around in the virtual space. Taking place of Sword Art Online’s NerveGear is the Oculus Rift or the HTC Vive.

The testers will be playing the VRMMO from today until Sunday, March 20, 2016.
