Sony Pictures Teaming with Activision for New Ghostbusters Games

Sony Pictures Consumer Products division announced today that they will be collaborating with Activision to create a new Ghostbusters video game for consoles and PCs, as well as an iOS/Android/Kindle game. Both games will take place after the events of the upcoming Ghostbusters movie, but will be somewhat different games.

The PS4, Xbox One and PC game, simply titled Ghostbusters, is a third-person action game with RPG elements where you play as a new recruit who has been tasked with keeping New York safe while the original Ghostbusters are off saving the rest of the world. It’s a four player co-op game as well, with four differently equipped Ghostbusters to choose from. You’ll level up your character by completing side objectives, taking down ghosts and things of this (super)nature.

The mobile game, called Ghostbusters: Slime City, will have the player teaming up with other Ghostbusters in a sort of “asynchronous co-op.” You’ll also be able to upgrade your character, customize your proton packs, and deck out the Ghostbusters’s Headquarters the more you play. Activision didn’t specify much more about what you’ll really be doing gameplay-wise in Slime City, but most likely it has something to do with slime.
