A series that had previously failed to reach the top spot, From Software’s critically-acclaimed Souls franchise, has finally laid claim to the top of the UK Charts this week. Dark Souls 3 entered the charts at number one on its debut week. It’s been a steady ascent for the series with the original Demon’s Souls in 2010 debuting in sixth position; the first of the Dark trilogy debuting in third a year later, while Dark Souls 2 bettered that by one in 2014.
In other news, The Division remains ever-present in the top regions of the charts, climbing back up to number two, with EA Sports UFC 2 returning to third position, having climbed five places from last week’s standings. Microsoft’s “biggest selling new IP” in Quantum Break slipped three places following its debut at the beginning of April, to number four.
