Developer Lemonsucker Games announced today that its debut title, The Average Everyday Adventures of Samantha Browne, is now available for download.
Assuming control of Samantha Browne, a college student, players must attempt to overcome her hunger by making their way through certain obstacles in order to make her the perfect oatmeal.
There is a catch, however, as decisions made by the player will have an impact on the interactive story in “unexpected ways.”
According to Lemonsucker Games, The Average Everyday Adventures of Samantha Browne is a “charming, ruthless game about oatmeal and anxiety.”
“Sam’s hungry, the kind of hungry that’s impossible to ignore for much longer,” reads the description for the title. “Deep down she always knew it would come to this. One way or another she was going to have to leave her room for food.
“Thankfully she has some oatmeal. Oatmeal is the perfect food. But what kind of oatmeal does Sam want? What’s the right amount of oatmeal to eat? When is the best time to leave a dorm room anyway?
“Are there rules about how late someone can make food in a communal kitchen? What if people are still awake? What if they see her? See, this is why Sam needs some extra help.”
Special effects artist and costume designer Holly Conrad said: “It’s really powerful to see the mundane world through the eyes of someone who has anxiety.”
The Average Everyday Adventures of Samantha Browne is a free download on PC, Mac and iOS devices.
