Following today’s rather sizeable announcement of not one but two upcoming Call of Duty titles, it’s been announced that developers Raven Software — who’ve previously worked on the multiplayer aspect of the series since Modern Warfare 3 in 2011 — will be overseeing the development of Modern Warfare Remastered, with the game’s original developers, Infinity Ward, acting as executive producers on the project. Activision have stated the remaster to the iconic forth entry in the Call of Duty series “boasts vibrant current generation visuals, with fully improved texture resolution and detail, high-dynamic range lighting, lit and shadowing VFX particles, revamped animation and audio, stunning sound, and much more.”
“The original Modern Warfare raised the bar on video games and forever will be remembered as one of the best.” Raven Software’s studio head, Brian Raffel, explained. “It’s an honor to be developing the remaster and we are committed to faithfully remastering this classic for Call of Duty fans.” So far Crash, Backlot and Crossfire have been confirmed as three of the game’s ten available multiplayer maps. Modern Warfare Remastered will come bundled with Infinite Warfare as part of the game’s Legacy & Digital Legacy Editions, when it launches alongside Infinite Warfare on November 4 for PS4, Xbox One & PC.
