May’s Humble Monthly Bundle Filled With Mad Max, Oddworld, Galak-Z, More

Well, it’s the first Friday of the month, so it’s time for the latest “unboxing” of the new Humble Monthly bundle. It’s another eclectic bunch of games, but outside of the open-world headliner Mad Max, sandbox puzzle game Infinifactory, and psychological horror-infused adventure game Fran Bow, there seems to be a bit of an unintentional “retro” theme this month (although if you count Mad Max as an ’80s franchise and Fran Bow belonging to the ’90s-associated point-and-click adventure genre, they fit the theme as well).

The rest of this month’s offerings, you see, include the re-imagined classic action-adventure game Oddworld: New ā€˜nā€™ Tasty, early access old-school multiplayer dungeon crawler Crawl, retro-inspired 16-bit platformer JumpJet Rex, ’80s anime and retro-inspired shooter Galak-Z, actual retro game twenty years in the making 1993 Space Machine, and for the Humble Original this month, the NES-inspired Gunmetal Arcadia Zero.

Notably, Galak-Z is included just in time for the game’s free new DLC update The Void, giving those who just cracked open this month’s bundle even more to experience when it it comes to one of last year’s best shooters. For the ones who missed out on the fun this month, though, the first of next month’s Humble Monthly offerings has been revealed: Rocket League, which those of you who pay for the bundle now can begin playing in advance. So will there be a potential theme next month as well? We’ll just have to wait and see…
