Rainbow Six Siege will get two new playable characters, one new map and a bunch of gameplay improving fixes in the upcoming update this Wednesday, May 11.
Ubisoft Montréal announced today on the Ubi Blog that two US Navy SEALs will be joining the fight, and their names are Valkyrie and Blackbeard. Valkyrie is equipped with a drone camera called the “black eye”, which gives players a new perspective on the map, and new ways to think about infiltration. Blackbeard, on the other hand, is more offensive, with his personal shield that is completely transparent, so players can see what’s going on on the other side.
The new map, called Border, is “the most destructible and open map to date,” due to its open air pathways that are completely destructible. It takes place in the Middle East as the team tries to secure the border. New headgear and charms will be available to earn as well.
The announcement came with a trailer, so check that out below:
Improvements will be made to the game alongside these additions, including load out customization between rounds, some minor changes to certain operators, the addition of gadget placement cancellation and what they call a “Winner Team Showcase,” which will show off the winning team’s operators, like how they do in Black Ops III and Overwatch.
