First Trailer for Assassin’s Creed Film Released

Well, the Assassin’s Creed games may be taking this holiday season off this year, but that certainly doesn’t mean the franchise as a whole will be doing the same as well, as evidenced by the debut trailer for the live-action Assassin’s Creed film due out this December, which you can view below.

Yes, we finally get our look at the long-awaited adaptation, with Michael Fassbender as the lead who finds himself reliving the past life of one of his Assassin ancestors via the Animus. The setting this time around is the Spanish Inquisition, which we’re certain nobody expected, and the trailer gives us a good look at the combat and certain staples of the series, all set to the music of…Kanye West? Odd choice, but the rest of the film looks pretty decent at the very least so far, so here’s hoping Assassin’s Creed helps break the curse of films based on video games when it comes out on December 21.
