Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain director Hideo Kojima has shared a full-body image of Ludens, the mascot whose head features on the official logo for Kojima Productions.
The Kojima Productions founder and studio head posted the photo on his Twitter account (see right), before following up with some additional tweets that explain more about the “icon” of the Japanese-based developer.
“We’ll deliver THE NEW PLAY in THE NEW FUTURE with the cutting-edge equipment, technology, & the frontier spirit,” Kojima wrote. “The gear he’s wearing is the extra-vehicular activity (EVA) creative suit.”
Yesterday, Kojima created a poll on Twitter that asked his followers to vote, choosing from one of four options, as to what outfit they believed that Ludens is wearing.
The results had 34 percent of people leaning towards an Armored Suit, while Powered Suit finished with 29 percent, Battle Suit came in third with 25 percent and twelve percent favored the ‘Others’ category in the poll.
Following the release of The Phantom Pain in September 2015, Kojima ended his 29-year career at Konami and opened his own independent studio, Kojima Productions, in December 2015.
Kojima’s first post-Metal Gear Solid project will be a console exclusive to PlayStation 4, though it will be coming to PC sometime after its console release.
When Kojima forged his partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment last year, the award-winning Metal Gear Solid creator said that he was “thrilled to be able to embark on this journey with PlayStation, who I have continued to work with all these past years.”
“I cannot wait to deliver, with PlayStation, a game that will become a compelling franchise,” he added.
