Since the release of the first game in 2002 and the sequel in 2004, the Syberia series has been considered to be a set of cult classics and one of the unsung heroes in the graphic adventure world, having been released during a time when many had given up on the genre. A third game was announced in 2009, but only began production in 2013 due to various issues. Finally, though, the finish line is in sight, and the further adventures of Kate Walker will now continue on December 1, as announced by developer Microïds.
In addition to the announcement of the game’s release date, a new gameplay video was released for Syberia 3, which you can view below. As you can see, it is still a work in progress, but looks promising nonetheless. Set to feature the beginning of an all-new saga in the steampunk series so that newcomers will be able to join in, Syberia 3 does look like it may indeed be worth the wait when it comes out in December.
