E3 seems like it’s still a long ways away, but L.A. is already starting to prepare.
Guerrilla Games are the first to put up a poster, promoting their newest game and first-time-in-a-long-time new IP, Horizon: Zero Dawn. The poster is gigantic, sprawling itself over an entire building, and features one of the big enemies from the game, the Thunderjaw. A picture of the poster was posted to Guerilla’s Twitter, reading, “A Thunderjaw keeps a watchful eye on downtown LA.”
Horizon: Zero Dawn is a PlayStation 4 exclusive from Guerrilla Games, the developers behind the Killzone series. In the far, far future of the game, humanity has gone through the apocalypse, but are slowly making their return, and life has reverted back to the stone age, in a sense. The difference is that the remains of the society that came before still wander the Earth in the form of big old rob-dinosaurs, and their resources can be harvested by hunting them. You’ll play as Aloy, a strong female hunter who fights with her bow and arrow, as well as traps and tethers.
Other than that, we don’t know much about the story of the game, so this E3 could (and probably will) be where we will learn more and maybe even see more. For all of that E3 coverage, stick to Hardcore Gamer.
