Mirror’s Edge to Get its Own TV Show

A Mirror’s Edge television series will be brought to life by Endemol Shine Studios, a company that produces shows like The Biggest Loser, Hell on Wheels and MasterChef to name a few.

Endemol Shine North America has teamed up with EA to bring the series to TV. Sharon Hall, the President of ESS, said she is very excited to bring the series to a larger audience. “It has a strong female protagonist, a wildly rabid fan base and a worldwide brand that Electronic Arts and EA DICE have done an amazing job establishing,” she told Deadline.

The latest game in the series, Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst, is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on June 7 and will reboot the series with the same protagonist, Faith. Endemol has not said whether the show will star Faith or whether it will be in the same “universe” as the game. It is likely that this will not be the case and the show will tell its own Faith story, but we’ve not yet heard either way.

It is also notable that the Tomb Raider franchise has rekindled their movie after the success of their video game reboot. Does this mean EA is confident that Catalyst will do well? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
