The developers over at Studio Wildcard are prepping the ARK: Survival of the Fittest May Survivor League Championship for the online multiplayer survival arena iteration of their Early Access dinosaur-centric survival game. ARK: Survival of the Fittest features a pit of up to 72 combatants in a Hunger Games-style battle royale, where they will be pining for last survivor standing in an arena with a progressively shrinking “ring of death,” which surrounds the closed battlefield. Players can form tribes of up to six people and play differing challenges and competitions.
Perhaps most interesting is the real money rewards – each month, ten ranked players of each of the “Survivor Leagues” is awarded a cash price based on their ranking. These rankings can be monitored in real time over at the official site. The May Survivor League Championship in particular goes from 11 am EST to 2 pm EST on Saturday, June 4, on Twitch. Players will compete for over $65,000 in prices and onlookers can follow the struggle on the ARK Twitch channel. Participants for the May Survivor League Championship will be invited from May’s top-ranked players of the year via Steam.
ARK: Survival of the Fittest is available free for PC via Steam Early Access. The game will hit PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this Summer.
