Another month and another fun Arcade Block. This monthly gaming loot service continues to please me for the price and the cool stuff packed in the NES-styled box that comes to more door every month. I have yet to feel the buyer’s remorse.
Starting off with the highlight, this one has some Plant Vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 love with a double entry metal lunchbox. The green, white, and purple color scheme works very well with the raised characters on each facing side. It’s light but sturdy, allowing it to see some use before it dies. Considering the extra geeky look of it, I’ll be proud to put this through its paces.
On the other end of the spectrum is a plush of Durotan from the upcoming Warcraft movie. Frankly, the movie is about five years too late to be truly relevant, so there isn’t much enthusiasm for merchandise tied to it coming from me. Setting that aside, the arms are a bit off, but otherwise it’s an alright little collectible for fans.
Continuing on, we have an 80 piece Super Mario Bros magnet set. Packed with pipes, blocks, enemies, and scenery, there is enough here to plan out a classic style level in advance of a Mario Maker session. That, and it allows husbands to irritate their wives by covering yet another piece of the house with gaming related tchotchkes. This always meets with my approval.
Finally, we have a metal NES controller pin that will be added to the growing backpack/armor project that I have been working on, as well as a Zelda hearts decal. This last goes great with the stylized Triforce t-shirt that will identify the wearer as a member of the secret shadow organization that runs the world, the Zeldanatti.
As always, there was a little postcard previewing some of the franchises that will make their way into next month’s block. Promised this time is Sonic, Five Nights At Freddy’s, and Street Fighter. Said to contain three exclusive items in addition to other goodies, it looks like it’s going to be another great month.
