The Coalition’s Improving Gears of War 4’s Graphics Since the Beta

The Coalition studio head Rod Fergusson has shared a new screenshot from the upcoming third-person shooter title Gears of War 4.

The image, posted on Fergusson’s Twitter account, shows a side-by-side comparison of the visual enhancements that Gears of War 4’s online has received since its multiplayer beta in April.

The most recent screenshot from Gears of War 4 was taken on May 31, highlighting some of the aesthetic changes made to buildings and also the environmental textures being polished up.

The two screenshots were taken on Harbor, one of the brand-new multiplayer maps to feature in Gears of War 4.

Fergusson also added a caption to his tweet: “The work continues! #gettingbettereveryday”

Prior to the beta’s start, which began on April 18 for Gears of War: Ultimate Edition owners, Fergusson had taken to Twitter to dispel rumors that Gears of War 4’s online would be running at 720p instead of 1080p.

Fergusson has already confirmed that The Coalition is targeting 1080p and 30fps for Gears of War 4’s campaign and 1080p and 60fps for its multiplayer component.

In April, The Coalition revealed Gears of War 4: Ultimate Edition, which includes a copy of the game, the Gears of War 4 Season Pass, a Steelbook and access to the title four days ahead of its official release.

Running on the Unreal Engine 4, Gears of War 4 will launch worldwide on October 11 for Xbox One.
