Immortals and EnVy successfully keep their unbeaten streak alive after day one. With a day off TSM will have a chance to keep their streak going and get to take on Apex who lost yesterday. After six great matches here’s how everyone stacks up going into day 2.
1. Immortals, Team Envy (3-0)
3. Team SoloMid (2-0)
4. Apex (2-1)
5. Echo Fox, Cloud 9 (1-1)
7. Phoenix1, Liquid, Counter Logic Gaming (0-2)
10. NRG Esports (0-3)
Kicking off the day are two winless squads that both made the playoffs last split. Liquid have had some internal problems that have undoubtedly affected their W/L record. CLG won the last split, but have an unfortunate 0-2 start at the hands of TSM and Apex. NRG and Phoenix1 are also both still looking for their first wins of the split and will have some tough tests to get it taking on Echo Fox and Cloud9 respectively. Predicted winners are represented in bold. (Overall: 1-1)
- Liquid vs CLG
- NRG vs Echo Fox
- Phoenix1 vs Cloud9
- TSM vs Apex
Unfortunately for Liquid their internal problems have really hurt the start of this split. So far Dardoch has played one match in this LCS split and that was the game 2 loss against TSM. He also got some time in the CS match Team Liquid Academy had against Cloud9’s Challenger team. There’s no telling who’s going to be starting today in the jungle, but if the roster on Lolesports is to be trusted it’ll be Dardoch back in the starting rotation.
As I said earlier NRG are still gelling as a team, but managed to take a game off of Immortals yesterday. They should be able to do the same against Echo Fox, but in the end I think Fox will pull it out.
Phoenix1 will at least need to wait another day to pick up their first win. They’re facing off against an impressive Cloud9 team that steam rolled Echo Fox in games two and three last week.
TSM haven’t dropped a match so far taking both Bo3s in two straight matches. Apex should manage to give them a run for their money but in the end it should be TSM staying undefeated. As they’ve showed throughout their matches Apex is a very good team and the only reason I’m giving the nod to TSM is because they’ve been playing so well and haven’t dropped a match.
Things kick off tonight at 2 p.m. CDT and can be watched here.
