For those of you who were saddened to hear the news of the Phantom Dust reboot cancellation last year, well it seems the 2004 strategy game might not be quite as done as very many feared. During today’s grand livestream of E3, Microsoft announced — away from their main press conference — that, while a reboot most certainly will not be returning, the original title will now be getting its own remaster for Xbox One & PC.
Simply titled Phantom Dust HD, the remaster will launch sometime in 2017 though no specific release date was given. Like many of today’s announcements, the game will be cross-play and come as part of Xbox’s Play Anywhere program. Not quite the new entry fans wanted, but hey it’s something right?
