With all the talk of Assassin’s Creed movie at the conference today, Ubisoft President Yves Guillemot announced that Watchdogs will also be getting the Hollywood treatment. Guillemot expressed his confidence in the AC movie, saying that it is shaping up nicely. Watch Dogs, he said, is a franchise that will also benefit from a big screen adaptation.
This announcement actually confirms reports of a Watch Dogs movie, as Ubisoft announced the adaptation last year after the release of the first game. Guillemot’s official announcement may have only been necessary since the original Watch Dogs wasn’t received too well. Maybe they just wanted to make sure that people know they are still committed to making it.
Watch Dogs 2 (the game) will come to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 15, while the Assassin’s Creed movie will grace the big screen this year on December 21. If you haven’t seen already, Watch Dogs 2 got some new gameplay footage at E3 today. Check that out below.
