Hideki Kamiya, co-founder of PlatinumGames, revealed to Metro’s GameCentral blog that he’s spent a lot of time thinking about sequels to Bayonetta, Okami and even the upcoming Scalebound.
GameCentral made a lighthearted quip about Bayonetta’s hair during an interview with Kamiya, to which he responded, “Then we will take that into account when we design her haircut when we start doing [Bayonetta] 3, if we ever make 3.” He went on to say, “Of course we want to make 3. […] Why should it end at 2?”
Kamiya said he hasn’t spoken to any publishers about it and it sounds very much like a game still in the conceptual phase, but it seems like he’s very interested in pursuing it down line. As well, Kamiya said he has ideas for a sequel to his distinctive ink wash-styled cult classic Okami and upcoming Xbox One action game Scalebound.
Of course, there’s no knowing whether or not any of those sequels will ever see the light of day or how serious Kamiya is about those ideas, but it’s nice to know he’s thinking about them.
