NA LCS Summer Split Week 3 Day 1 Predictions

The first day always features the match of the week and once again it’s a good one. The second match is less impressive, but Liquid have subbed in Fabbbyyy and sat Piglet for today’s match. Here’s the standings going into the first day.

1. Team EnVy, Team SoloMid (4-0)

3. Immortals, Cloud9 (3-1)

5. Apex (2-2)

6. Liquid, Echo Fox, NRG Esports, Counter Logic Gaming (1-3)

10. Phoenix1 (0-4)

Sitting atop everything is Team EnVy and Team SoloMid. Both teams have managed to take down everyone they’ve faced and had some good opposition along the way. Thus far everyone has found a win except for Phoenix1 who are hoping that changes today as they take on Team Liquid. Predicted winners are represented in bold. (Overall: 7-3)

  • C9 vs TSM
  • Liquid vs Phoenix1

TSM is still undefeated and playing extremely well as of late. They’ve taken down most everyone in two straight matches except for last week against Immortals. Cloud9 have been equally impressive only losing their fist game against Immortals this split. It’s taken them three matches to secure two of their three wins, but wins are wins. There’s zero reason to assume that TSM is going to lose here, but let’s take a chance. C9 are playing well and tend to make everyone work for their wins. It’ll no doubt take TSM three matches again and if not they might be unstoppable.

Liquid have decided to give “The Gatekeeper” Fabbbyyy a go in the starting adc spot. This could be a slap in the face of Phoenix1 or just seen as giving a long time Challenger vet a go, but either way he’ll be playing today. Phoenix1 have struggled mightily and haven’t notched a win to their name and probably won’t again today. Even if they can take one off of Liquid unfortunately for them it’s now a Bo3 so they’ll need one more.

Things kick off tonight at 7 p.m. CDT and can be watched here.
