Xenoblade Developer Helping With The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

In a testament to how big of a project Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is, famed game designer Shigeru Miyamoto revealed to Game Informer that Monolith Soft, the developer behind Xenoblade Chronicles X, is contributing to the game.

“Yes they are involved in this Zelda,” Miyamoto told Game Informer. “People from Tokyo and Kyoto are working together on this. There is a team of over 100 helping work on this project, and their work has really been helpful.”

This isn’t a total surprise given that Monolith Soft has experience developing open world games and also contributed to the previous game in the series, Skyward Sword, but it’s still interesting to note especially given everything riding on Breath of the Wild’s success. The game has been delayed several times already, so the size and scope of the project probably necessitated Nintendo requesting help once again.
