Metroid Prime: Federation Force and Blast Ball Include amiibo Functionality

In a couple of Tweets posted by Nintendo, the company revealed amiibo figures will allow you to trick out mechs in new colors for Blast Ball. Scanning certain amiibo such as Mario and Bowser on the New Nintendo 3DS will give you matching designs. So far, this is all we know about these specific amiibo and their compatibility within the game. It should be likely many more amiibo will let you gain more variations.

In addition to Blast Ball comes storyline help in the form of Samus and Zero Suit Samus amiibo. Using these two allows you to gain certain upgrades to assist you on missions. They will also change the colors of your character to appear similar to the amiibo.

Blast Ball is a mini-game within Metroid Prime: Federation Force. At this moment in time the game isn’t looking like the next big thing for the series.¬†Hopefully integrating the amiibo even more will help fans get more excited for the title. Federation Force will be available on August 19.
