Remember when PT had an incredible number of downloads? Well Resident Evil 7 has shattered its rival horror demo. Capcom has announced today that the single-player demo for PlayStation 4 that was released at the end of Sony’s E3 2016 press conference on June 13 is now the number one downloaded demo, at least for its first seven days.
While it’s unknown how many times it was downloaded in the 168 hours it was available, in just under three week’s time, Resident Evil 7’s demo has received over two million downloads worldwide. This is especially impressive considering it was locked behind PlayStation Plus.
Despite this positive number, the reception for the demo has been mixed, with some loving the puzzle elements while others still worried over its approach in first person and deviance from the typical Resident Evil story.
Regardless, Resident Evil 7 will be available for PS4, Xbox One and PC on January 24, 2017.
