Released at the launch of the Xbox One, Killer Instinct’s reemergence started off a little rocky, but as the years went on, it became one of the best modern fighting games available. It was originally developed by Double Helix Games, but after they were purchased by Amazon, Iron Galaxy Studios, best known for their involvement in numerous Capcom fighting game ports and remasters, took up the mantle in a very positive way.
While the fighting game will still continue to be free-to-play to all users, there will be a definitive package for players to pick up. Microsoft has announced today that a Definitive Edition of Killer Instinct will be available in two months, giving players all 26 characters, along with an exclusive Gold skin for Gargos, and the original Killer Instinct 1 & 2 to play.
Killer Instinct: Definitive Edition will be made available through retailers and the Xbox Marketplace on September 20, and priced at $39.99.
