EVO Championship Series 2016 Starts Tomorrow

The world fighting game tournament, Evolution Championship Series, or EVO for short, starts tomorrow July 15 and will be held at the Las Vegas Mandalay Bay Events Center. This year’s stream will be hosted by Team Sp00ky, IPW Crew, and Capcom Fighters with PandaXGaming, VGBootcamp,TeamKhaos, BGCallisto, KombatNetwork, and ToPanga to assist. In addition, Street Fighter V’s Top 8 will also be streaming live on ESPN 2 this Sunday, marking EVO’s first year on cable TV.

The main games featured at this year’s tournament are Mortal Kombat X, Killer Instinct, Pokken Tournament, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator, Tekken 7, and of course Street Fighter V.

Some of the notable players confirmed to show up at this year’s tournament are Daigo Umehara, RZR Infiltration, ZeRo, Mew2King, Speedkicks, Hungrybox, Koichi, Clockwork, Pink Diamond, and Tom Brady. EVO is also known to have video game news announced during the event, so it’s safe to assume something will be shown at this year’s event. EVO will run from 11 AM PDT Friday morning until Street Fighter V’s Sunday finals starting at 7 PM PDT.
