Star Wars Battlefront is Finally Getting an Offline Mode

Dice has finally confirmed that an offline mode is coming for all players of Star Wars Battlefront.

Skirmish is coming to Star Wars Battlefront on July 20. This offline mode will arrive as a free update for all players on July 20 and gives players the option to play offline against bots. Players will be able to configure the AI difficulty and play by themselves or with a friend using split-screen co-op. Unfortunately, Skirmish is only currently compatible with two modes, Walker Assault and Fighter Squadron.

Those looking for more online multiplayer action won’t be left wanting. Dice is prepping more free in-game events for the summer. Expect to see more Hutt Contracts to unlock new weapons, log-in rewards and open trials for Bespin.

Dice have also teased the third DLC for Star Wars Battlefront, Death Star. Season Pass holders will receive Death Star in September. Most importantly, Dice revealed that the new maps will take place on ground and in space. Will we finally see some space combat? I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Two new heroes will be added in, including a character they describe as ‘larger-than-life.’ Perhaps Obi-Wan Kenobi will finally be added? We might find out during a sneak peek Dice will hold during Star Wars Celebration Europe. You can catch the EA Star Wars Panel livestream on Saturday, July 16 at 11am PDT.

Star Wars Battlefront and its first two DLC packs, Outer Rim and Bespin, are available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
