Pokémon Go has officially taken over the world, and despite very real questions about the shallowness of its gameplay and whether or not it has any legs, it’s awesome to see that the most popular smartphone application in the world is a video game. There are still many questions to be answered about Pokémon Go, as a result of its mechanics not necessarily having the clearest explanations, but one of the biggest mysteries to date appears to have been solved.
Redditor smithnigel figured out how to force your Eevee to evolve into either a Jolteon, Vaporeon or Flareon, and it’s actually cooler than you may think. In the original Pokémon anime, the three Eevee brothers were named Rainer, Sparky and Pyro, which makes sense given their appearances:
By changing the name of your Eevee to the appropriate name of the Eevee brother of your choice, your adorable little creature will become either a Vaporeon (Rainer), Jolteon (Sparky) or Flareon (Pyro) upon evolution.
