Unfortunately Riot hasn’t released anything depicting each team’s chances of making it to the post season, but off the top of my head I think Apex is the only team left with a real shot. NRG might be able to, but they play IMT today so I think with a loss that would eliminate them from any hope of making it. Here’s the standings going into day one.
1. Team SoloMid (14-0)
2. Immortals (13-1)
3. Liquid, Cloud9 (8-6)
5. Team EnVy, Counter Logic Gaming (7-7)
7. Apex (5-9)
8. NRG Esports (4-10)
9. Phoenix1 (3-11)
10. Echo Fox (1-13)
Contrary to my EU LCS predictions this split has been going nicely. For the most part that due to TSM and IMT always showing up, but also team’s having a way to definitively win. Today we have one very important match for Apex as they take on Echo and hope for a few slip-ups to make it into the six spot. I think the tiebreaker for the NA LCS is game score or how many of the individual Bo3 matches they’ve won. That complicates things considering we don’t have it and could cause trouble for Apex if the stars align win/loss wise. Predicted winners are represented in bold. (Overall: 45-15)
- IMT vs NRG
- Echo vs Apex
Things kick off tonight at 5 p.m. CDT and can be watched here.
