Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Delayed to the First Half of 2018

In a Kickstarter update to his backers, former Castlevania: Symphony of the Night developer, Koji Igarashi, has announced that he has decided to to push back the Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night release date back to the first half of 2018.

In his post Igarashi said, “The last thing I want to do is keep our backers waiting, but after receiving such incredible support, I feel responsible for delivering the best product I possibly can.”

After launching its Kickstarter in May of 2015, Bloodstained raised over five million dollars from backers, which at the time made it the most backed game in the history of Kickstarter.

Igarashi explained in the post that in order to bring the game up the quality that he and his fans have come to expect, he has decided to bring on additional developers to help with the game.

Earlier this year backers were sent a beta, which we played and called “the groundwork for an excellent Metroidvania.”
