Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is Getting a Co-op Survival Mode

Naughty Dog has revealed Survival, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End upcoming co-op mode.

Uncharted 4: Survival is the upcoming co-op mode that Naughty Dog promised players back in May. As the name suggests, Survival is a wave-based mode where you and up to two additional players can take on swarms of enemies. The mode is similar to Co-op Arena from Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3, but Naughty Dog has evolved it into something new and fresh.

Players will do battle across 50 waves and ten maps against all forms of enemies. Every ten waves culminates in an intense battle with a Pirate Warlord, which are based on the Founders of Libertalia. Players will also need tackle different objectives during random waves. This includes holding an area, collecting treasures, and defeating marked enemies. Defeating enemies and completing objectives earns you in-game cash that can then be spent unlocking and equipping weapons, gear, heavy weapons, mysticals, and more.

Survival will have its own progression, Relic Challenges, and loadouts separate from multiplayer. Ranking up unlocks new upgrades for your weapons, new items, and even a few vanity items. Beating Survival on Hard Mode will even unlock a new Crushing Mode difficulty.

Uncharted 4: Survival will launch mid-December, but PlayStation Experience attendees will be able to get hands-on time with the mode at the event.
