As Psyonix prepares the Rocket League community for another one of its big month updates, fans now have another long-pined for feature to cross off the list: mod support.
Ever since Rocket League’s back in July of 2015, passionate players have created their own unofficial mods to supply the car-centric sports game with unique scenarios and arenas. Now, as part of the game’s impending December update, Psyonix has confirmed that Steam Workshop support will be implemented into the game with the upcoming patch. While Psyonix themselves will not be releasing any modding tools, the Steam Workshop support will make it significantly easier for creative users of the Unreal Engine 3 UDK to share their production with the Rocket League PC audience.
While the integration of mods is only planned for the PC version at the moment, Rocket League is also currently available on PS4 and Xbox One. For more on the other features making their way into the December update, keep it locked here on Hardcore Gamer.
