During The Late Night Show with Jimmy Fallon, a couple of Nintendo’s biggest names appeared as guests. Reggie Fils-Aimé and Shigeru Miyamoto were on the talk show to show off some of the Nintendo Switch, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and the upcoming mobile game, Super Mario Run.
After the segment aired, a couple of trailers were posted on YouTube to show off some of the gameplay in Super Mario Run. Mario will constantly traverse familiar areas and levels but must time jumps to reach platforms and stomp on enemies. There are also multiplayer challenges where coins collected and sweet moves give you a boost in score against your opponent as well as a mode to create your own courses. We’ll even get to play as other characters from the Mushroom Kingdom including Luigi, Toad, and Yoshi.
The cinematic trailer really showed off how connected to the world these Nintendo mobile games can be. It has a similar feel to the Pokémon GO reveal where fans gather together to celebrate the popular character. Super Mario Run will be available to download starting December 15 for iPhones and iPad devices. However, beginning December 9, fans can participate in live demo tryouts in participating Apple stores.
Check out both trailers below and get ready to keep on running!
