Anyone who frequents this site might have noticed two things about me: First, I love murdering robots. The second is that I’m in love with virtual reality. That is assuming, of course, that I have been noticed at all. Anyways, it should come as no surprise that I am really interested in trying out First Contact Entertainment’s newly launched ROM: Extraction. Centered around gunning down alien robots, the game challenges players to make use of energy weapons, explosive orbs, and time slowing mechanics.
“ROM: Extraction is all about dropping players right into the action and keeping them coming back for more,” said Hess Barber, co-founder and president of First Contact Entertainment. “The addictive fun of its high-energy, round-based play sessions is the foundation on which we’re building an evolving, groundbreaking VR game.”
Admittedly, hands on time would be required to see if the play meets the potential, but this is a title that certainly deserves a closer look. For anyone willing to take the plunge, it’s going for $20, with a 15% launch discount on Steam.
