The Walking Dead: A New Frontier Cancelled on PS3, Xbox 360

Telltale Games appears to be cutting ties with last-gen consoles starting with The Walking Dead: A New Frontier.

The Walking Dead: A New Frontier is the highly anticipated third season of Telltale Games’ award winning series. Fans have been anticipating continuing Clementine’s story for a while now, and will get to play on December 20. However, those looking to continue the experience on PS3 or Xbox 360 are about to be left in the dust.

Via a support page on their site, Telltale Games have revealed the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of A New Frontier have been cancelled. Players who wish to carry over their save file from Season 2 to a newer platform are encouraged to check out another support article.

“The Walking Dead: A New Frontier will not be available on PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 game consoles. This includes digital and disc formats.”

The move to drop PS3 and Xbox 360 isn’t all that surprising as a majority of publishers and developers have already done so. Telltale Games was one of the last holdouts alongside Warner Bros. LEGO games and Activision’s Skylanders games. Everyone else is developing exclusively for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

The Walking Dead: A New Frontier premieres December 20 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, iOS, and Android devices.
