An 8-bit Pokémon ROM hack of Gold/Silver in development for eight years received a cease and desist today from Nintendo. Adam, one of the game’s developers, revealed as such on a tweet yesterday along with a .pdf of the C&D form. Many Pokémon hacks have been created and haven’t fallen under Nintendo’s gavel, but Pokémon Prism made itself more obvious than most considering it had a trailer on YouTube with over one million views which also has been taken down, a website specifically for the hack and Twitch streams following the development.
The hack was advertised to have character customization, around twenty gyms and over 250 Pokémon including ones from generation four. The hack was scheduled to release December 23.
