Minimalist Puzzle Game Linelight Arriving Early Next Year

Following on from this year’s acclaimed line-based puzzler The Witness, developer My Dog Zorro are looking to continue the minimalistic yet just-as-satisfying theme with Linelight — a game we discovered earlier in the year and believed had ample levels of potential in being the next great puzzle game. Set within a similarly minimal and somewhat abstract aesthetic, players take control of a blue line, called “Dash” in this case, and guide the lonely line through networks of lines and grids filled with obstructions, switches and rather less pleasant lines. Spread across three hundred levels, Linelight aims to challenging on the brain yet calm on the ears with its laid-back, ambient-esque score.

“My goal was to take simplification to the extreme, initially for the fun/rewarding design challenge,” My Dog Zorro’s head and lead designer Brett Taylor explains. “Lightlight’s lifeblood is in its elegance: every puzzle and every line serve a unique purpose…I hope you have as much fun experiencing Linelight’s elegance as I did creating it.” Linelight will be available on PS4, Xbox One & PC in the first quarter of 2017.
