Nintendo Aiming for Multiple Smart Phone Games Released Every Year

Starting in 2017, Nintendo’s latest plan is to start releasing 2-3 smart phone games every year. This news came from a Japanese interview with President of Nintendo, Tatsumi Kimishima, who stated that the Mario Run downloads, which are now over 50 million, were expected and went on to explain their plans for the yearly smart phone releases. This news does coincide with Nintendo’s previous announcement that both the Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing series would be getting smart phone games in 2017, which remain the only upcoming mobile releases we know anything about so far. There has been no comment on whether these games will be free to play or full purchases like Mario Run, but more details will likely surface with the new year right around the corner.
